Getting the right treatment for your cancer from the start is extremely important. That’s why at Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center, we have dedicated teams of experts that specialize in your specific type of cancer.

These multidisciplinary teams are made up of health care specialists and providers—pathologists, oncologists, radiologists, surgeons, nurses, and others—who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of the specific cancers they represent. They meet regularly to discuss new and complex cancer cases.

The types of cases these boards may discuss include rare cancers that need a specialized approach to treatment or if a patient has tried standard treatments and is seeking new options.

When it comes to providing the best cancer treatments, it's important to consider the perspectives of each expert involved in your care. At Holden, every member of our tumor boards has specialized training and experience in the specific cancer they seek to diagnose and treat. That's why tumor boards are an invaluable resource—this team approach results in some of the most comprehensive and coordinated treatment plans available.
