Launch your specialty training in hematology and oncology at a premier academic medical center.

Student studying

Our three-year hematology and medical oncology fellowship program attracts some of the nation’s most exceptional trainees. The combined clinical services of Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Iowa City Veterans Affairs Medical Center provide an abundance of complex cases and a variety of team-oriented management approaches.

Iowa’s program is distinguished by students choosing career tracks early in their fellowship. Preparation allows for a differentiated curriculum, shaped by a faculty mentor. The tracks include: master clinician pathway, clinical investigator pathway, clinical educator pathway, and physician scientist pathway.
