Dorfman Award Nominations

November 16, 2023

To: Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center Members

On behalf of the HCCC Nominating Committee I am writing to ask for nominations for the Dorfman Award. The Dorfman Award recognizes the best paper published over a two-year period by HCCC members in lymphoma and leukemia research. These can cover the full spectrum from basic, translational, clinical and population sciences, but must be focused on leukemia or lymphoma. Our last award was made in 2019 and this award process subsequently disrupted by COVID. Since we have made the awards every other year, we plan to make 2 awards based on the two best papers published from Jan 1, 2020 to Dec 31, 2023.

The nominees will be reviewed by the HCCC Nominating Committee. The Senior author the winning papers will be awarded a $25,000 grant to support their research efforts and will be recognized, along with their research team, at an event to be held in 2024.

Please send a pdf of the paper nominated to Tami Thompson tami-thompson@uiowa.edu by Dec. 31, 2023.

Best Regards,

Michael D. Henry, PhD
Interim Director, Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa
